Dr. Sue Stuska

Sue's dream of instruction began when she was in high school, helping teach university horseback riding courses at the barn where she rode. She later earned her doctorate in Education, with a specialty in Equine Science, and taught at several colleges and universities. She started working with dogs when her disabled husband found an exceptionally suitable shelter canine, which Sue trained as a hearing and mobility service dog.

Sue is passionate about training working dogs. As of 2023 she is raising her fifth puppy for Leader Dogs for the Blind. Two of her first three dogs have already been placed with clients, which is higher than the average placement rate for the school.

Sue enjoys helping Sound Dog students with training their puppies, along with scent work and tracking. She has attended Clicker Expos, Association of Professional Dog Trainers conferences, tracking clinics and a Ken Ramirez seminar. She has been training dogs and their people professionally since 2009.
